Sorshe ful er posto(Mustard flowers with poppy seed)

Bunch of mustard flowers are available in our local market during winters. We used to make 'sorshe fuler bora' by dipping the flowers in batter and fry. This time I combined them with some potatoes and poppy seed paste and a nice side dish is made.



Ingredients


  • Mustard Flower - 2 bunches
  • Potato - 1 - cubed
  • Poppy seed paste - 2 tbsp
  • Green Chilli Paste - 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt, Turmeric - as required
  • Sugar - a pinch

Wash and clean the flowers.


Add oil in a frying pan and fry the potato cubes with salt and turmeric till golden brown. Drain and keep Aside.


In the same oil, add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and chilli paste and fry lightly. Add poppy seed paste and fry till it releases the nutty aroma. Add flowers and fried potato cubes. mix well. 


Fry well till the water evaporate and oil comes out. Adjust the seasoning. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar and it is ready!!

Serve with steamed rice and daal.
