Teriyaki Chicken

I am in the mood of quick cooking now,, and trying to prepare a dish or two which takes less than 20-25 minutes. This Chicken Teriyaki is  one of them, if you donot consider the marination time.

Ingredients

  • Boneless Chicken - 250 gms
  • Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger Paste - 1 tsp
  • Garlic cloves - 3, chopped
  • Honey - 1 tbsp
  • Soya Sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Salt, Pepper - as required
  • Green chilli ( optional)
  • Spring Onion - a bunch
  • Corn Flour - 2 tsp

Cut the boneless chicken into long strips and marinate them with salt, pepper, half of garlic paste, 1 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of soya sauce for 30 minutes.

Add white oil in a pan, on high heat add the chicken pieces and quickly stir fry for 30 seconds. This will seal the juice inside the chicken. Lower the heat, then fry chicken till done. Keep aside.

To prepare sauce, in the same oil, add chopped garlic,, fry till golden, then add remaining garlic paste, ginger paste, chopped green chilli, and fry well till the raw smell is gone.

Add 2 cups of water, add remaining soya sauce, honey and pepper and let it boil,, add chopped spring onion too. Adjust the salt.

Boil for 5 minutes, then add fried chicken and mix well. Dissolve 2 tsp corn flour in 2 tbsp of cold water, add to the gravy and boil till it thickens, adjust seasoning.

Serve hot with plain rice.
