Monday being the meatless day of the week, ( no religious / spiritual cause, because we generally have huge amount of animal protein during weekends, just to compensate a bit). I really think hard to make something, atleast one dish, interesting, so that my son takes his food. The good news is, he loves paneer. So every Sunday evening, I try to cook one special dish for Monday. Tried this unusual Paneer posto last week, and it was pretty good. Can have it as a side dish, with rice or Parota.
Heat oil in a pan, then add the onions with a pinch of salt and sugar and saute till brown, Add the tomatoes, till it gets mashed.
Add the poppy seed paste and fry till you get a nice aroma.
Chop the paneer thinly and add to the masala mixture. Add some salt and sugar too. Add chopped green chilli. I have also added 1/2 cup of warm water since I wanted the dish to have little gravy. You may omit the water and fry.
Mix well and let it boil till the gravy thickens.
When water dries up and gravy reaches a desired consistency, add a tbsp of ghee and remove from heat.
Serve with plain rice.
