Bata is a small fish found in Eastern India and Bangladesh.....it has many small bones that is why my son doesn't like it but miraculously he ate it in this recipe.........I hope you will also like this..
Marinate the fishes with salt and turmeric powder for 15 minutes. Add half of the chopped onions, tomato, green chilli, kasmiri chilli powder with a tbsp mustard oil and keep aside for 15 minutes.
Heat mustard oil in a frying pan. Pour the marinated fish and fry on low heat, turning carefully midway through. When fishes are half fried and tomatoes are mashed, add the remaining onions.
Continue frying till the onions become crisp. Adjust the seasoning. Serve masala bata maach with rice and daal.
